Strategic opening in Gamboma
Gamboma pulsed with party colours as the first session of the Nkeni-Alima federation of the Congolese Labour Party, PCT, unfolded on 26 November. Members gathered to examine an agenda deemed crucial for the young structure’s identity and influence (local press reports).
Federation president Yves Fortuné Moundélé-Ngollo Ehourossia, freshly elected two months earlier, chaired the talks. He reminded delegates that Nkeni-Alima, carved from parts of Plateaux, holds weight in national balances and must therefore show a vibrant, organised PCT presence.
A roadmap voted paragraph by paragraph
After lengthy exchanges, participants endorsed a detailed work plan. The text lists statutory meetings, membership drives, completion of sub-committees born from the federation’s creation and active preparation for the sixth PCT Congress. Each deadline is set before year-end for quicker momentum.
Moundélé-Ngollo Ehourossia underlined that the adoption of the roadmap officially launches his mandate. “We have clarified tasks so that every militant knows what to do and when,” he told reporters as applause rose inside the cultural hall.
Unanimous call for Sassou Nguesso 2026
The climax came with a motion of support to President Denis Sassou Nguesso. Reading the text, delegates praised his “visionary leadership” and “infrastructure achievements” before urging him to run in the March 2026 presidential election.
“Here in Nkeni-Alima we are ready to carry him high,” the federation president declared, promising an exceptional first-round score. The hall responded with chants echoing outside, signalling local enthusiasm while other departments begin similar mobilisation.
Tech boost for grassroots efficiency
To translate enthusiasm into concrete action, Moundélé-Ngollo Ehourossia donated laptops, printers and didactic kits to the secretariat. The material, he said, will sharpen data collection, mailing lists and rapid-response teams during both internal congresses and the national campaign.
Younger activists welcomed the gesture, noting the importance of social networks in a constituency where mobile penetration is rising. “We can stream activities live now,” smiled Esther, a communications volunteer, convinced that digital visibility will attract undecided voters.
Next steps toward the national stage
With the roadmap validated, committees must finalise their membership before mid-December. Training workshops on electoral law and door-to-door canvassing are scheduled in Gamboma and surrounding localities.
The federation also intends to showcase local success stories at the forthcoming PCT Congress to highlight how the party’s policies translate into real gains for citizens. Leaders believe positive storytelling will resonate beyond the department, reinforcing unity ahead of 2026.
